CNC / BTA Machining for Defence
Mollart was contracted to develop machining processes for components on a new lightweight Howitzer to be used by British and American Armed forces. A Titanium Cannon Barrel was complemented by a Buffer Recoil system manufactured from Aluminium for lightness.
Mollart project managed the supply of material and machined the 2m-long cylinder on a 4-axis milling centre and 6m CNC lathes from either Deep Hole BTA Drilled or Extruded Aluminium tube material.
