Automotive industry gundrilling

Traditionally the multinational customer bought Mollart Deep Hole Drilling machines but a change in strategic thinking necessitated a piece-part strategy.

Mollart project managed the construction of a dedicated production facility and turnkeyed a process to service the demand for Gundrilled Power Steering Racks. Today, the Mollart Automotive facility Turns and Gundrills 16,000 parts per week for major car manufacturers in Europe.

Specialised ‘Hemming’ Assembly Units are used to produce the folded edge on Car Body Panels. Mollart manufacture the components on CNC machines and assemble the units in a regular programme due to frequent car body style changes.
